     Former farm and factory worker and cab driver, ESL, and video arts teacher. Now retired.

     Author of Lettuce Wars: Ten Years of Work and Struggle in the Fields of California published by Monthly Review Press and the Spanish translation Guerras de Lechuga published by Köehler and Cafe Con Leche books.

     Author of numerous articles on social justice issues, especially immigrants.
